...Seize The Day!
Lets get it over and done with:
The cancer is back, it's aggressive and has spread from Ella's arm back into her lungs and into the joints around her collar bone. There is no more surgery or chemo to be given, the team have never seen such an aggressive form of tumour. We are talking palliative treatment and care - possibly in terms of months and not years.
So Thursday sees us at the Oncology hospital where radiotherapy will be discussed and hopefully used and work as a palliative treatment to reduce the size of the tumours and make Ella as pain free and comfortable as possible, and then "Game On"..... "Carpe Diem", live and make the most of every precious day and do what ever feels right.
This is Ella's list of rules:
1. No cards or flowers
2. No being hysterical and wringing of hands (unless you have Redman or Tarzey in your name)
3. When you see me - please no negativity or drama
4. Don't all come at once - still plenty of time
5. No talk about hospitals and treatment plans - unless I want to talk about it
6. Mum and Sophie are just as important (actually even more important than me)
7. Please don't call me brave or amazing or keep saying how sorry you are (its not like its your fault)
8. If you do feel the urge to buy gifts - preferably don't, especially not chocolates
9. Please just be as normal as possible - difficult I know
10 Finally of course, I reserve the right to amend the above at any time - with or without notice

ReplyDeleteHave been with Ella and Jo for much of the day and the rules sum up how they both dealt with a very difficult day, so lets stick to the rules folks. We seized the day at one point with a visit to McDonald's...... That was great, and even Jo partook...... Honest!
